Default BDWF Russian Forum watch update!

Hello,

Just wanted to update everyone regarding the BDWF Russian Forum .

Payment to Smirs was made yesterday due to some payment delays and reinvoicing.

Smirs is advising that it will be about a month until the watches ship out due to VOSTOK not having enough Ministry cases right now.

I myself am excited and cant wait for the watch! Feel free to PM me or [k] any questions u may have.

Very good news indeed. Looking forward to the arrival of mine as well. I've been so busy working crazy hours for the last 4 months, I never heard what the final count was. Anybody know??

Default End of Vostok?

I guess this is bad news for the forum watch?

Vostok is certainly in trouble.

They have gone through - and continue to go through the equivalent of a "Chapter 13" bankruptcy. This allows the factory to stay open and try to generate revenue. According to the article, a court mandated debt restructure already occurred (2009), and another restructure will take place. This will further relieve some of the debt and place a more favorable repayment scheme on the remaining debt.

This is, of course, just kicking the can down the road. Vostok will almost certainly fail eventually. Their only real hope of survival are military contracts, which are unlikely.

The forum watch is probably safe; enough parts exist in the pipeline to produce enough watches. My principal concern now is accurate reproduction of our custom dial, and the delivery timeline.

I hope you're right about parts in the pipeline. I have never bought into a forum watch before, but this one looks very special in a lot of ways. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we'll see them soon.

Default Forum Watch in Limbo?

First vejarmr2 tells us that it's going to be a month late, and then [k] indicates we may not get it at all, because Vostok has gone bankrupt for a second time. Sheesh! Not to be pessimistic, but things don't sound very promising to me, overall, for us ever getting our forum watches. I hope I'm wrong-I've got money on it,literally!

I probably didn't word my response very well, but I certainly wasn't trying to impart that we wouldn't get them at all. I did not signify change in the estimated delivery date at all.

Vostok is currently under a court-ordered debt restructure. They will undergo another debt restructure this year.

Both of these efforts are aimed at relieving their current debt burden and allow the company to continue operations.

In fact, I have been reviewing dial mockups from Vostok today for the forum watch, so everything is moving ahead.
