We see mostly watches in this forum, so how a about a clock for a change? This is a mechanical Slava alarm clock from the early 1960's. As you well know, the space race was on, and the Soviet celebrated their recent successes with the satellite Sputnik and Yuri Gagarin's space flight.
The clock is designed as a globe with Soviet as a continent, circumnavigated by a rocket. The crystal is spherical as well, so the whole clock is completely round. It has Cyrillic text, so it was likely made for the domestic market. According to the seller, it belonged to a retired military man who owned it since new. ![]() ![]()

It's difficult to read, but I think the dial says 11 jewels, which is also confirmed by a similar piece in Mark Gordon's collection. I'll open it up for a photo of the movement after the weekend (too busy right now).

I'm sorry windy2, but I have been unsuccessful in removing the winding crowns in order to remove the case back (behind the globe). The setting crowns came off easily, so I'm puzzled why the winders are so resistant. I'm going to have a closer look before I use more force.
